After some investigation, the advisors accuse Chen De (Prince GY’s bodyguard) of conspiring with the Rouran in hopes to free Prince GY. They state that Prince GY is therefore innocent and asks Prince NA to free him. The torture made Prince GY go mad and Prince NA uses it as an excuse to not let him go. He brings Prince GY to the court and show all the advisors.
Prince NA then awards LCL for torturing Prince GY. LWY then confronts Prince NA, asking him to free Prince GY since she already promised to marry him. Prince NA doesn’t believe that Prince GY had really gone mad and plans to test him. When Prince GY is brought to him, he looses his shoe and pretends to swim to get it. Prince NA then steps on his hand to see his reaction. Next, Prince NA then offers him the Chiyun poison and Prince GY eats it, claiming that it is candy and begs for more. If he doesn’t receive the antidote a month later, he will die. Therefore, Prince NA states that he will give Prince GY the cure only after LWY marries him. He permits Prince GY to leave the palace.
LCL then visits LCR, who is about to give birth. LCR wants to see LWY again and asks LCL to help her eliminate LWY since they both want the same end result.
Hong Luo disguises herself as one of LWY’s servants and gives her the Chiyan poison through her food. Now both LWY and Prince GY are poisoned, but there is only one antidote left. Prince NA then visits LWY and she asks for one favor for the wedding. She wants a grand wedding held at a specific place in the palace. Prince NA agrees.
LCR visits LCL dressed as a maid. She had already given birth to a son at this point. It is then revealed that LCL plans to accuse LCR of poisoning LWY in a month. LCL warns LCR to stay put since everyone still thinks that she is dead. Despite this warning, LCR goes around in the palace to look for Prince NA. Hong Luo catches her in doing so and brings her to LCL. She is then locked in the house ‘for her own good.’
LWY then reveals to everyone that the King actually appointed Prince GY as the next king, not Prince NA. She only lied about it because Prince NA threatened her with her family. She tells everyone that the King revealed a secret only to her – that there was a secret passage to the palace. This is how the troops were able to secretly enter and disrupt the wedding. The advisors acknowledge this and bows to Prince GY. They are all dismissed.
Prince NA wonders how they planned all this. During LWY’s encounter with Prince GY, she hinted that he should collaborate with the Rouran. LWY also gave the directions to the secret passage to Li Chang Xi to give to JT.
Jun Tao then captures LCL and she is brought to the Princes. She states that both Prince GY and LWY are poisoned. Prince GY slaps LCL and she laughs crazily and is dragged out. Prince GY forces Prince NA to give him the antidote by putting a knife on his neck. Prince GY tells him that if he gives him the antidote, he will save his life. LWY also begs him to give Prince GY the antidote as a dying wish. Prince GY follows Prince NA to retrieve it, only to find out that there is only one.
Prince GY pretends to have already taken the medicine and gives it to LWY. He then spits out blood and collapses…
