Prince NA tells LWY that there was only one antidote left for the poison and that Prince GY foolishly chose to give it to her.
LCR comes into the court and moves in to kill LWY. However, Prince NA acted quickly and moves to shield LWY and gets stabbed instead. LCR is shocked and asks him why he protected LWY even though she planned against him. He states that nothing is important anymore since he is dying and questions about her pregnancy. LCR ask Prince NA whether he would have chosen her if LWY never entered the palace. Prince NA stated that he was sorry for everything and passes away. LCR then stabs herself, stating that she would follow him into the afterlife.
Prince GY consults the royal physician and he states that it is not possible to cure the poison without the antidote. However, he could try to extend his life for 5-10 years. Prince GY states that it is still a blessing to him and tells everyone to keep it a secret from LWY.
On the wedding day, Prince GY and LWY reads their vows to each other. LMD is interrupted by a maid, who states, “Princess… she…” This is enough to send LMD running towards her. She is still unconscious when he got there but wakes up as he cries beside her. She states that she can’t stay unconscious forever since she wants him to fulfill his promise to her by marrying her. He gives her a kiss and she states, “The 100th time.”
Prince GY becomes the King and LWY becomes the new Queen. In the court, Prince NA’s crimes were all read out and the former Crown Prince (Prince GY’s father) was proclaimed innocent of his previous crimes and was given the title of an honourable Emperor. LCL is now demoted to be a slave.
LWY greets her family who have come to visit her at the palace. They greet her with her new title and she states that they will always be her closest family. The Grandma and LWY’s mother are both declared higher titles.
Prince GY visits LCL. LCL yells at Prince GY, asking him if he was happy now that she is a slave and tells him that she would rather he killed him instead. He provoked her and she admitted that she was the one who killed the Crown Princess, Prince GY’s mother. This was all he needed to hear and he ordered poisonous wine to be given to her. She yells after him, asking him to kill her himself. He replied, stating that she was not worth the effort.
Chen De is the now the Commander of the Royal Forces and meets up with Jun Tao, who is trying to be more feminine.
A few years later, Prince GY’s health has noticeably deteriorated but he still puts up a front in front of LWY and their son, Tuoba Hong. Hong tells Prince GY that he can write his own name now. Prince GY dismisses him and allows him to go out and play. LWY asks if everything was okay. Prince GY states that it’s been a few hours since he has seen her so he misses her.
They have a calligraphy session where LWY sits on his lap and they write together. LWY notices a scroll covered in Prince GY’s blood. She knows that his health is deteriorating but tries to hold back her tears and continues to write out his name. Prince GY comments on her ‘ugly’ writing and she counters saying that she was doing it on purpose so that he can teach her forever. He punishes her by making her write his name a million times.
LWY overhears the conversation between Prince GY and the imperial doctor. The doctor asks him why he had given LWY the antidote instead of taking it himself. Prince GY tells him that the kingdom means nothing to him if LWY isn’t by his side. He then talks to himself, saying that he still wants to grow old with LWY and teach their son many things.
They are now at the garden which Prince GY planted himself. Prince GY asks LWY whether she was happy. Sher replied, saying that she was and he states that her happiness is his happiness. They hang up lanterns and play the zither together. He rests his head on her shoulders while he recites their wedding vows to each other. Petals start to fall from the trees around them and he passes away.
LWY becomes the Empress Dowager and walks to the throne with her son. Prince GY’s voice is heard in the background as they ascend the throne, stating that he cannot protect them anymore and asks her to protect their family and home they started.
