The two men who were scared of Kuchon finds Solnan.
It turns out that the requests to see the King goes through many steps before the King actually sees them. Solhi talks to the messenger and he writes a scroll with her request to see the King. There are lots of requests and only one is chosen each month/every two weeks.
With nowhere to stay, she goes to the Grand Marshal's wife to stay a night. She tells her her background story, but putting herself in Solnan's place. The wife comments to her servant that Solhi has a sad story but seems a bit dangerous.
The King invites the Crown Prince to read the requests with him. The tradition of the royal drum started with the previous King, but the Crown Prince criticizes the tradition, saying that it was just all for show. The King got mad, saying he had no right to criticize the late King. The Crown Prince suggests to the King that he pick Solhi's request - a young girl who lost her family to bandits. The King, however, picks a different one.
The next day, the King delivers the proper punishment to a man who abused his wife to death so that he could remarry and get more dowry. Prince Jinmu seems impressed at this ruling.
Just as the King is about to leave, Solhi yells out for an audience with the King, saying that she is Soo Baek Hyang.
Solnan wakes up when food is put near her nose. The two men asks her how they could get in to the white jade business because bandits took over their territory and they no longer can provide for themselves. She thinks that those bandits killed her family and indirectly tells them that her whole family, including Kuchon, is dead.
