The sisters goes out to search for flowers to bury Chaehwa with. Solnan searches very close to the place where Chaehwa drops the hairpin. They both mourn for their lost. Solnan tells Solhi that whenever she smiles, Kuchon smiles and whenever Kuchon smiles, Chaehwa smiles. Therefore, whenever Solhi smiles, the whole family smiles. Solnan vows to find the bandits that killed her family.
