Ying Luo is practising her calligraphy with the Empress. Her hands tremble when she writes so she uses a cloth hanging from the ceiling to hold her hand steady. One of the maids sees this and thought that she was trying to hang herself and yells for others to come and help. When the others came, Ying Luo tells them that it was just a false alarm and they dismiss, while Ming Yu stares at her with envy.
While she was running other errands, Qin Xi (her sister's ex) asks Ying Luo to meet him in the garden as he found out who murdered her sister.
Ying Luo finds it suspicious that Qin Xi asked her to meet at the garden. She continues practising her calligraphy only to find out that one page of her practice notes was missing (she numbered her pages and it went from 27 to 29). After that, she seemed pretty absent-minded and the other maids were wondering what was wrong with her.
That night, she's practising her calligraphy with the Empress. The Empress realizes that she has been absent-minded and was not concentrating on what she was writing. She asked her what was wrong but Ying Luo said there was nothing. After a few seconds, she changed her mind and told her that there is something on her mind...
That night, Ying Luo went to the meeting place. Qin Xi sees her and suddenly grabs her hand, but she calls out loud and a bunch of the Empress' servants went to beat him up. Just then, Prince Yi comes and accuses Ying Luo of tricking Qin Xi to meet up with her and then beating him up. Ying Luo retorted, saying that it was Qin Xi that instigated everything and that she was only there because the Empress ordered her to do so. Just then, Fu Heng shows up and tells them that the Emperor is nearby and asked what the ruckus was all about. They stopped arguing and report to the Emperor.
The Emperor is angered by the development as he was trying to enjoy a game. Ying Luo and Qin Xi both state their case, putting the blame on each other. Qin Xi takes out a note, saying that Ying Luo wrote it to ask him to meet at the garden. The Emperor knew that the Empress had been teaching her how to write and believed him. However, Ying Luo takes out a stash of her practice notes, saying that someone fabricated her writing since page 28 of her notes is missing. She also states that she didn't want to waste resources and only used the lowest quality paper but the note that they claimed she wrote was on high-quality paper. Fu Heng takes a look at the paper and confirms her claim.
The Emperor starts to believe her. Ying Luo tries to blow up the scenario by saying that people were trying to harm the Empress. She states that if she had been proven guilty, then people would say that the Empress didn't know how to raise her servants. Qin Xi got scared of the consequences and told the King that Prince Yi ordered him to frame Ying Luo.
The Emperor is furious at how this turned out. He punishes Qin Xi to 100 beatings. He then turns to Ying Luo and tells her that her writing is really ugly even though she's been practising and that she is wasting the Empress' efforts and punishes her by making her copy 100 pages. Ying Luo tries to retort back but Fu Heng tells her to stop. The Emperor notices this exchange.
The Emperor is disappointed at Prince Yi and asked why he would do such a thing and asked if he was collaborating with anyone. Fu Heng then reports to the Emperor that he had seen the Prince with Lady Jia's maid. Prince Yi begs for the Emperor's forgiveness and he just kicks him out of frustration.
The Head Eunuch, Li Yu, goes to Lady Jia's palace and takes the Fourth Prince as punishment. He would now be raised by Consort Xian instead of Lady Jia. She holds on to him, crying, not knowing what crime she committed. The Eunuch tells her that Prince Yi confessed about their collaboration. Just then, Noble Consort Gao comes in and tries to calm Lady Jia down, saying that she would try to help her.
Ying Luo is with the Empress and expresses that she disagrees with the Emperor's judgment on the incident. The Empress states that he did as much as he could as he couldn't punish the Prince since he is part of the Royal Family. Ying Luo still thinks it's unfair.
Ying Luo meets with Fu Heng, saying that she has a question to ask him. She wonders why he was there that night - was it really a coincidence? Fu Heng tells her that he was following Prince Yi out of suspicion since he saw her with Lady Jia's maid the other day. Ying Luo then realizes that Fu Heng purposely brought the Emperor there that night. She leans in closely and thanks him, saying that it must be fate to meet that night at the garden. After she left, Hai Lancha mocks him and his interaction with Ying Luo.
That night, Ying Luo meets him again and gives him a packet of salt, saying that it was for the Ceremony as she heard the meat is not tasty. She hopes that it would make things easier for him. He accepted it even though it was against the rules to add salt to the meat.
Next day, the Sacrificial Ceremony commences. Everyone is kneeling down and the meat is served by the maids. Ying Luo serves Prince Yi.
Another scheme that Ying Luo got out of with her quick thinking and wit!
Once again, I don't really like the interaction between Fu Heng and Ying Luo. I just want to tell him that she's trying to scheme something! She's definitely going to do something with the salt packet at the ceremony, possibly getting him into trouble.
Prince Yi is a new addition to the evil gang. I wonder how it's going to play out now...
Also, poor Fourth Prince getting separated from Lady Jia... I have a feeling that he's going to turn revengeful - probably against the Empress for separating him from his mother later on this series :(
