Li Chang Le (LCL) sets off assassins to kill Li Wei Young (LWY) so that no one will find out that she was lying about the fact that she saved Prince Gao Yang (GY). Of course, as she is in trouble and is chased to the edge of a cliff, Prince GY comes along and fights off the assassins with one hand while holding her with his other hand. With no other options left, they both jump off the cliff together and miraculously landed safely. The assassins report back to LCL and General Chiyun Nan (CN) that both LWY and Prince GY jumped off the cliff together. The new soon spread to both families.
Prince GY went to find some water. As he leaves LWY behind, she runs away, not wanting to deepen their relationship and to put him in danger with the assassins. Two assassins disguise as part of the search crew. Li Min De contacts General Jiao and asks for help to find LWY in exchange to returning to the Ran Rou kingdom.
Prince GY then catches up with LWY. LWY literally pushes him and walks away but then walks back when he seems to be hurt. LWY asks him what she has to do for him to stop following her. He replies that he would continue until the rest of their lives and then questions her about the assassins and everything that happened. LWY then reveals her true identity to him – that she was the Princess of the Northern Liang Dynasty. She tells him that she never liked him and was just using him to get her revenge. He seemed stunned for a moment and LWY walks away… right into the assassins. Just in the nick of time, Prince GY catches up to her and fends of the assassins. In the process, he got hit by an arrow. They walk to the entrance of a small village/hut before he collapses.
The searching crew was able to find Prince GY’s pendant that he probably left behind during the fight, securing the fact that he is still alive. They update this information to the King and the fact that LWY is probably with him.
LCL tells General CN that as long as LWY is dead, she could become both the empress and marry Prince GY. General CN then receives a letter from Prince Nan An (NA) and meets him later that evening. General CN reveals to the prince that LWY is actually the Princess of the Northern Liang Dynasty and promises that the Chiyan family will back him up and support him to be the next king if he helps him get rid of LWY.
Prince GY wakes up and seems to recover from his wound. He tells LWY that she is the person that he likes and it doesn’t matter what her true identity is. She says that she doesn’t deserve his love. Prince GY reassures her that he trusts her no matter what. He tells her that he would ask the king two favours: to marry her and to move out of the city with her and his mother and to live a life outside the palace together.
LCR’s mother tells her about a banquet which is supposedly for choosing a bride for Prince NA. LCR then goes to meet Prince NA. As she does, she sees him hiding the scroll proving the innocence of the Northern Liang King (LWY’s father).
