Jun Tao (JT) finds out from Prince Gao Yang’s bodyguard that he had the intention to marry Li Chang Le (LCL) instead of Li Wei Young (LWY) and confronts the prince. Prince Gao Yang (GY) reassured her that it was only his mother’s intention and that he’ll try to convince her otherwise. Just then, a servant announced that GY’s mother has suddenly fallen ill. GY goes to visit her, only to have her request that he marries LCL instead of LWY.
Back at the Li Residence, LWY confides in JT and wonders whether it was a mistake for her to accept GY’s feelings, ruining his relationship with his mother.
Princess Tuoba Di is also having some love problems on her own, wondering if Li Min De reciprocates her feelings and if he is really going to back to the Ran Rou Kingdom.
Suddenly, there is some political conflict with another kingdom and in order to solve it, General Chiyun Nan (CYN) suggests to send LWY to be married off (as a means of a hostage) to that kingdom to avoid going into war. GY adamantly opposes and proclaims that he is meaning to marry her. This meets extreme opposition in the court and angers the King.
The news is announced to the Li Household. LWY's status is now upgraded to Princess An Ping prior to the marriage. LWY says her goodbyes to the family and prepares for the trip. LWY meets the princess and asks her to tell GY not to upset the king because of her. The princess also passes on a letter from GY to her.
Despite what LWY said, GY goes to the king and begs him to change his mind. The king refuses and walks away. GY follows him and walks through shooting arrows to approach the king again. This infuriates the king even more, and GY’s mother had to step in to beg for forgiveness on GY’s part. His mother then tells GY to pick between her and LWY. GY remains in his place and continues to kneel through the day and through the rain.
Li Chang Ru (LCR) gives Prince Nan An (NA) the belt that she made him. He accepts it and asks her to leave because he didn’t want people to find out about their relationship. However, he just threw the belt aside after she leaves.
The next day, NA escorts LWY.
