One of the maids puts rocks and dirt all over the clothes that LWY just washed. LWY retaliated and starts spanking her with her washing paddle. The head maid then comes and was going to punish LWY by slapping her mouth. Prince GY witnesses this and was about to stop her but Prince NA cuts in and stops her himself by saying that LWY is his friend. After the ordeal, Prince NA reveals to LWY that Prince GY is planning to marry LCL.
Prince GY then goes to the King and asks for his permission to marry LCL, stating that it was his mother's last wish before she died. The King is angered and leaves.
LCL tells her mother that she is going to marry Prince GY soon and asks her to stay alive until then.
LWY is washing clothes while reminiscing about all the good memories she had with Prince GY. Prince GY does the same.
The next day, the maids wonder what LWY's true identity is since she is the Prince's friend. The Eunuch tells LWY that LCL requested to have her help with her wedding and to prepare her dress for her. LCL taunts her, ordering LWY to help her wear her dress. LWY accidentally addresses her by LCL and she slaps her, telling her to address her as Prince GY's wife from now on. LCL continues to torture her, demanding that she addresses her again and again, in a louder voice each time. Prince GY is also getting ready for the wedding. He is in distraught as well, telling his bodyguard that today he is marrying someone that he doesn't like in front of someone he loves.
The ceremony commences and LWY greets the elders in the family. The Aunt criticizes her, saying that she shouldn't address herself as LWY when she is actually the Northern Liang Princess. The father disowns her on the spot. However, the grandmother is still on her side, dismissing all the banter by saying that it is LCL's wedding today.
Outside, LCL forces LWY to be a 'step ladder' so that she could get on the horse carriage. Prince GY sees this and grips on the rein of his horse because he was unable to do anything about it.

After the ceremony, Prince NA meets LWY and tries to comfort her by saying that it was the Crown Princess' last wish. LWY says that she doesn't blame Prince GY and walks away. LCR sees this interaction.
Back at the Li Residence, LCL's mother passes away after calling out for LCL and reaching for her in outstretched arms.
Prince GY and LCL are finishing up their wedding ceremony traditions. They were supposed to share a drink with each other but Prince GY excuses himself, saying that he is still sadden by the death of his mother to continue.
The next day, he gives his respect for his mother, asking for her forgiveness for marrying LCL to save LWY. LCL then comes in to pay her respects. Her maid knocks over the Crown Princess' jewelry box.
